University of Electronic Science & Technology of China (UESTC)

Overview

The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is a public university founded in Chengdu in 1956 on the instruction of then-Premier Zhou Enlai. It was created by combining the electronics departments of Jiaotong University, Nanjing Institute of Technology and South China Institute of Technology. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and belongs to Project 211, Project 985 and the Double First-Class initiative.

It has around 40,000 students on its Qingshuihe, Shahe and Jiulidi campuses. Electronics and information technology are its core focus. International students can study electronic information engineering, computer science and software engineering in English; Chinese-taught programs include communication, electrical and biomedical engineering, as well as clinical medicine and nursing.
